Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADOLF F. KRZYWDZINSKI It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce the death of Adolf Krzywdzinski, on Monday, February 19, 2001, at his home in Winnipeg, Man. Adolf was born in Trembowla, Poland in 1919. During the Second World War he served in 6 PAC, heavy artillery in Lwow, Poland. He was imprisoned in a P.O.W. camp in Russia, from which he escaped and served in the Polish Army 2nd Corp. under General Anders command, in heavy field artillery. Adolf travelled through Iraq and Palestine to Italy where he fought in many battles, including Monte Casino. He was injured and taken to the hospital, where he escaped to join his comrades in battle. After the war, Adolf went to England and was stationed in Scotland temporarily. In 1947 he travelled to Winnipeg and shortly after, he joined the Polish Combatants Association, Br. 13 and the R.C.L.A. Mynarski V.C. Br. 34. Adolf served Poland and his adopted country well. He was always longing to see free land and his father home in Trembowla, Eastern Poland. Adolf worked for C.N.R. for 36 years. He was a strong family man who loved to spend summers at his cottage and winters in Hawaii. He had a wonderful sense of humour and loved to socialize. He will surely be missed by all. Remaining to forever cherish Adolfs memory are his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Stanislawa; daughter Irene; granddaughters, Yolanda and Kasia; grandson-in-law Duane; great-grandson Jesse and many relatives and friends in Canada and Poland. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 22 at 1:00 p.m., in the Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg, Man., with Rev. Fr. Antoni Degutis, O.M.I., presiding. Interment will follow in the Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Parish Cemetery, 4387 Main St., Winnipeg. A gathering of family and friends will then be held in the Polish Combatants Association No. 13, 1364 Main St. Honorary pallbearers will be the S.P.K.s President, Lech Galezowski and Waclaw Kuzia. Active pallbearers will be Adolfs friends and fellow comrades from S.P.K. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Polish Combatants Association War Invalid Fund or Help for Polish Refugees in the East, 1364 Main St., Winnipeg, Man. R2W 3T8.
